Software Engineer - Robotics

Izmir, Turkey Engineering - Software Team Full-Time

The Role

Skyborn Robotics is looking for an engineer to develop algorithms and programs for our robotic systems. We see two major hurdles to adoption in the robotics industry: cost and ease of use. We’re developing low-cost, AI-powered robots and a powerful SDK to go with them that will allow users to get up and running quickly across multiple platforms and languages.

The Robotics Software Engineer will be responsible for implementing kinematics, dynamics, calibration, path planning, control and other algorithms for our robotics platform. The ideal candidate has experience developing these applications for robotic systems as well as a strong software engineering background to implement the data structures and algorithms in a performant, memory-efficient fashion. The role also contains strong ties to our academic partners and working with them to understand their needs and deliver solutions. We’re hiring for all levels from a recent graduate to an experienced engineer looking to grow and lead the team. Apply and help us continue to deliver our vision of a powerful, simple robotics platform!

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Robotics or a related field.
  • Proficient in C++ and Python
  • Experience with multi-axis kinematics, dynamics and path planning algorithms
  • Experience with outer loop robotic control algorithms
  • Emphasis on strong development practices: git, GitHub, CI/CD, unit testing

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with SLAM algorithms
  • Experience with vision-guided robots
  • Experience with ROS

Job specifics

  • The job is based in Izmir, Turkey, but you can expect to join an international, multicultural team, and we offer extensive relocation support.
